My mission as an artist is: Create Meaning, Create Wonder.

Creating Meaning helps me process the past. As a veteran of the Iraq war, painting scenes from my time in Iraq has helped me work through complicated memories. The process of making those pieces is revelatory, giving me a deeper understanding of the chaos, fear, or brotherhood that the scene represents.

Creating Wonder in my abstract artwork gives me faith in the future. Wonder can't be created in a factory or designed by a machine, it is a uniquely human emotion that ignites the imagination, drives us towards creativity, and helps us arrive at solutions to the challenges before us.
